According to a recent survey, the great British public believe that welfare shouldn't just be handed out willy nilly, people should get off their backsides and do some work, and that a life on benefits is not something to be proud of.

Can't say I disagree...

Neither do I

And yet having now worked the otherside of the counter, I know those in the frontline have absolutly no discrestion at all in who gets what. If somebody ticks the State mandated boxes, they get the money.

The whole benefits system needs a root and branch reform. Along with a culture change.

Is anyone brave enough to do it?
